John C. Schumacher, CFA, CPA

Mr. Schumacher has over 17 years of client service experience working with both public and private entities in numerous industries including, healthcare, life sciences, professional services, manufacturing, technology services, food processing, energy, real estate and digital media. Mr. Schumacher has provided and led valuation analyses of business interests, complex securities and intangible assets for various purposes including financial reporting, tax, employee share ownership plan (ESOP), litigation, regulatory compliance and strategic matters. He has conducted valuation analyses related to transaction purchase accounting, goodwill impairment tests, stock-based compensation, transactions with insiders, international tax reorganizations, estate and gift tax, ESOP fairness and administration, litigation, strategic analysis, recapitalizations and his work has included numerous multi-billion dollar transactions/subject interests. Prior to joining ValueKnowledge, Mr. Schumacher was with Houlihan Lokey in their Financial Advisory Services practice. Prior to Houlihan Lokey, Mr. Schumacher was in the Economic and Valuation Services group of KPMG LLP. Mr. Schumacher started his career in public accounting with Arthur Andersen as an auditor and later as a management consultant.  

Mr. Schumacher earned a Master of Business Administration from the Stephen M. Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Drake University. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation conferred by the CFA Institute (click here for more details), and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Illinois.  He is a member of the CFA Society of Chicago, the AICPA, and the Illinois CPA Society. He also holds memberships with the Association for Corporate Growth, The ESOP Association, and the Business Valuation Association.
